Staff Accountant
Southfield, MI (Hybrid) | $55,000-$60,000
I am recruiting on behalf of my client for a Staff Accountant to join their growing Accounting team in the Southfield, Michigan area. This role is ideal for someone early in their accounting career who wants hands-on experience, strong team support, and opportunities for growth in a mission-driven environment.
About the Role:
In this role, you will help ensure accurate financial operations across the organization. Responsibilities include recording daily financial transactions (accounts payable, accounts receivable, cash activity), maintaining and reconciling general ledger accounts, supporting monthly and annual close, producing financial reports, performing analysis, collaborating with management, assisting with special projects, and completing additional duties as assigned by the Controller.
What We're Looking For:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field (recent grads welcome)
Solid understanding of GAAP and accrual-based accounting
1 to 3 years of accounting experience preferred (AR, AP, reconciliations)
Strong attention to detail, analytical thinking, and ability to learn quickly
Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
Good communication skills and interest in improving processes
Proficiency with Excel, Word, PowerPoint; Dynamics GP experience is a plus
Compensation and Schedule:
Salary range is $55,000 to $60,000, with flexibility based on experience.
Hybrid schedule: approximately 3 days onsite per week.
Onboarding may require up to 4 days onsite initially.
